If you have never used an Onbuhimo, be prepared to practice with this carrier style. It is a more challenging style of carrier to use. It takes some patience and practice. Most people do not get it right the first time.
Fit-check photos can be posted in our Facebook group, or emailed to us. We have a group of others who will gladly help give you some tips and tricks, and sometimes they have a faster response time.
The Onbuhimo carrier is not the perfect style of carrier for everyone. You will only be using your shoulders to support your baby. The best way that we can explain how this carrier will feel on your body is to describe it as a bookbag packed full of books. If carrying a bookbag full of books would hurt your back soon after putting it on, we highly recommend looking at an SSC-style carrier like the LennyLight.
This style carrier may cost a little bit more but offers much more support since it has a waistband. The waistband will allow your whole torso to support your child’s weight. The SSC-style carrier also makes getting a comfortable fit for the caregiver and child much easier.
We hope this helps! Please reach out if you have any questions.
