July's Fundraising Campaign status: NationalBailOut.org's #FreeBlackMamas project

Thank you so much to those of you who have donated to NationalBailOut.org's #FreeBlackMamas project so far! We started raising money for this campaign in June. Since then, we have raised almost $200! Here is some information from them about their organization. In addition to various bail-out funds, they also sponsor the #FreeBlackMamas fellowship program, where I've asked our funds to be allocated:

"The National Bail Out collective is a Black-led and Black-centered collective of abolitionist organizers, lawyers and activists building a community-based movement to support our folks and end systems of pretrial detention and ultimately mass incarceration. We are people who have been impacted by cages — either by being in them ourselves or witnessing our families and loved ones be encaged. We are queer, trans, young, elder, and immigrant." - Nationalbailout.org "About Us" statement

In August I will be starting a campaign for a new organization, yet to be decided--I am thinking about a local or regional organization that supports Black doulas and midwives, or to a local bail out fund, but I am open to suggestions!

In this final week of July, I would LOVE if we could reach $300 in donations!

Would you like to help? Simply add your donation at checkout with any order. You can choose a percentage of your order or any amount of your choosing.

Thank you so much for considering the needs of others in our community. Please feel free to message me if you have ideas for future organizations to support! I love having this feature and am also contributing personally to the causes selected. Part of the reason I wanted to start Mama & Roo's was to be able to support more community, and I'm so honored to see so many of you who want to support that vision, too. Thank you, so much, for your generosity, no matter how big or small. You are helping us to make a difference!

We will post the final amounts donated in the first week of August, along with an announcement of our next organization.

Thank you, and as always, keep loving those littles <3.

All the best,

Alexandra Puppelo, Founder
