A long woven wrap is a long piece of woven fabric designed and tested to safely carry babies. The long woven wraps in this box are ethically made, machine woven on a loom, and made with baby-safe dyes and locally sourced materials.

The cotton woven wraps in these boxes are safety rated for children from birth. They are safety tested  to carry children from 6.6lbs to 55lbs. These are the most versatile carrier, allowing for caregivers of any size and of any physical ability to carry their child safely and comfortably for as long as the child wants to be carried!

Carries include front carry (facing in), front carry (facing out), back carry, hip carry, 2 shoulder carry, 1 shoulder carry, torso (no shoulder) carry, waist-less carry, fancy finishes, and many many variations of these!

Stretchy wraps are commonly used for newborns. They are long pieces of knit fabric with stretch to them. Many caregivers find the stretch of the stretchy wrap feels more forgiving, and they appreciate the extra soft cotton knit material.

Our stretchy wraps are rated for use from birth to 1yr, with a safety tested weight range of 6.6lbs to 22lbs. Due to the unique way our stretchy wrap fabric is designed, our stretchy wrap provides extra support and just enough stretch, making it easy to tie, easy to tighten, and easy to learn and use over time.

A ring sling is a shorter piece of woven fabric with a set of rings sewn in to one end, designed and tested to safely carry babies. Simply thread the fabric around your body and through the rings, put baby in, and tighten! The ring slings in this box are ethically made, machine woven on a loom, designed by artisans and made with baby-safe dyes and locally sourced materials. 

The cotton ring slings in these boxes are safety rated for children from birth. They are safety tested  to carry children from 6.6lbs to 33lbs. Easy to learn and use for snuggles with little ones and quick up-downs with toddlers, plus light enough to pack up anywhere!

Sling rings are an extra set of loose rings (they will come in a small brown bag in your box). They can be used to replace knots in finishes, add visual interest with fancy finishes, extend the length of a carrier to do a carry meant for a shorter wrap, and so much more. You'll have so much fun learning and playing with the sling rings in your order! We've selected rings that we think will be a good size for learning for the wrap in your box, but we always recommend having multiple sizes and colors so that you can try all kinds of things!

Medium and large sling rings are most common, followed by small. Extra large are typically used with tandem carries in a single long woven wrap.

We’ve included a fully adjustable soft structured carrier in our Buckles box, the Upgrade. This wrap conversion carrier has soft, beautiful, breathable wrap fabric for the panel, waistband, and arm padding. It has a buckle waistband and backpack straps. The waistband is wide, scalloped, and soft, and will get floppier with time. The generous waistband can be used by most wearing up to size 5x, and it adjusts from approximately 20.75” to 53” in circumference. This carrier includes everything you could want in a baby carrier, including a generously sized magnetic waistband pocket, removable hood, removable lumbar support pad, perfect fit adjusters (PFAs), 2-way arm strap adjustment, movable chest clip, and crossable straps. Plus, this carrier panel height and width adjust to fit your little one from 4-6wks old to 2.5yrs old.

Our Buckles boxes come with a set of suck pads and reach straps that can be used with either of your 2 carriers! These pads simply wrap around the arm of the carrier and snap shut. This protects the carrier from chewers and makes it easy to throw suck pads in the wash instead of the whole carrier! Although rare, a serious teething child can even put holes in your carrier, so suck pads are an excellent choice to for protection as well as style. 
 
Even better, these suck pads include loops to attach toys or teethers. And they also come with reach straps, which make it easier to pull your child’s hood on when they are being worn on your back.

All carriers in our Babywearing Starter Boxes are cotton wrap conversions, but the material they are made of varies based on the weave. 

Broken twill weaves are thin, smooth, and light. This simpler weave shines for beginner wrappers as the stripes and alternate color rails guide you.  

Jacquard weaves are truly works of art. These designs have beautiful interplay and complexity of weave. They are plush, supportive, and vibrant. They have more texture and artistry in their weave. Many Jacquard weaves even have a different color reverse! 

Fancy herringbones are similar to Jacquards but are in a complex, beautiful ombre gradient instead of patterns. They have a subtle reverse coloring. 

Our boxes include a mix of broken twill and fancy fabrics to give you a broader idea of what you love most about babywearing, and to enjoy how different fabrics change your carrying experience.
