I bought this carrier for our Disney World trip. It was super easy to put on and we were able to use it for our 2 1/2 year-old and our 7 month old. It’s a little difficult to initially get baby on since he can’t support his back as well as my 2 1/2 year old. You have to create the seat for them. Other than that it was amazing and had incredible cushion pads for my shoulders and great support!
The carrier itself is great, but the customer service is extra great! I needed a onbuhimo carrier quick for an event and nowhere I looked would get to me quick enough. I emailed Alex to ask about shipping. She replied that very day (within a hour or two actually) and reassured me that my order could make it to me before the event. My order arrived so quickly and in perfect condition. Onbuhimo carriers are tricky, but just take some practice. The colors are beautiful and the material is super soft. I'd absolutely repurchase from Mama & Roo's again!
I'm so happy we could help! Enjoy your carrier, and thank you! =)
This carrier was perfect for my baby! I needed to find a back carrier so I can hold my baby while I work. My baby is only 5 months old, (but very small still!), so I struggled to find on that she would fit. This one turned out to be perfect and my baby loves it! Very comfortable and pretty, too.
Such a very colorful item
Want to love the onbuhimo carrier but there's a lot of plastic buckles for size adjustments and couple on the side digs into my ribs. The chest buckle strap seems too high and crushes my breasts and there's no way to lower it. Wish the chest buckle came below the breast where it feels more secure.
It would also be nice if the instructions had information on how to adjust the size properly for different size babies rather than just how to put the baby on the back.
I'm hoping as my little one grows, we will be more comfortable.
This carrier takes a good bit of practice to get right! If you haven't already, I encourage you to watch our detailed video on how to use the carrier. It sounds to me like you may be tightening everything down really tight, which is a common mistake - this carrier you want to start baby as high as possible and rotate baby the rest of the way into place. It seems like you do that by tightening, but that doesn't necessarily help in this case =).
Start with these videos:
Detailed tutorial (highly recommend for what you're describing): https://youtu.be/KC-E4HxY6vE
The chest buckle can be lowered 2 ways - by sliding (it is stiff because the carrier is new, but it will slide!), and by rotating the carrier (which you will need to do to get a good fit). I do not think it will ever settle below the breast, but it will settle lower on the chest- maybe in line with the breast. This is a waist-less carrier, so it's designed for everything to be up high =).
I also highly encourage you to post some photos in our group for a fit check and we can help you more thoroughly there as well: facebook.com/groups/mamaandroos
This is definitely a style that takes practice. If you need more help, feel free to reach out. Thank you for your feedback.
